I had a motherboard burn out and sent it off for repair. The motherboard does not exist. I bought a new motherboard. I have an ASUS A8N-SLI deluxe mother board, an AMD 4990FX chipset, and two hard drives: 160GB Western Digital hard drive 250GB Intel hard drive I boot into the Windows 7 install disk and make sure it's all working. Then I boot into the Windows Server 2008 install disk and choose the install option that lets me choose where to install. I pick the 250GB hard drive. Then I choose my hard drive (that's not being used). When I start the install I get an error saying that the installer cannot find a hard drive or it is corrupt. It's not a bad drive, it's working fine in Windows 7. I tried Windows Server 2008 install disk with just the one hard drive plugged into the motherboard and it boots fine. Is there any way I can just install Windows Server 2008 on my computer? I'm pretty sure there's nothing important on the 160GB hard drive, it just has some Windows 7 (presumably service packs) installed on it. A: I would suggest backing up any files/data you need, formatting your hard drive and then installing Windows 2008 on the hard drive that is not being used. Windows 2008 isn't too picky about what drives you put it on as long as they are formatted NTFS.
